Cloudy Day

clouds on a blue sky background

Spring Forward – we’ve lost an hour. Friday, March 20 is the first day of spring. We’ve already had some pretty hot days, some windy, others have been real chilly. The theme for this list is something along the line of losing an hour of time, science fiction, and the likes. To make up for the lack of cloudy days, you’ll be able to find all of these on CloudLibrary as an eBook or eAudiobook.  Some are also available at our branch locations

If you would like to listen to a playlist while you read through these titles, visit Freegal at or check out the playlist I made: Cloudy Day Playlist on Freegal.

The year is 2067 and somehow that is too close to our timeline, but still relatively far away. Imagine this…41 years from now, a rich, rich family has settled on Mars and transformed it to a colony of homes that only the really rich can afford to get a one-way ticket for. Now imagine you’re at a Space base – an emergency evacuation sends everyone away and you’re left behind. The story places (rich boy) Hunter and (poor girl) Cleo at this base, stranded, fighting for their lives. They’ll have 8 hours to work together to stop mercenaries from destroying the base.

In this world, there exists an experimental device that allows you to look at alternate versions of your life. What you see could change the trajectory of your life or influence decisions about your present life.

“Ruben Reyes Jr.’s dual timeline debut novel is an epic, genre-bending journey through inverted worlds—one where war ends with a peace treaty, and one where it ends with a decisive victory by the Salvadoran government. What unfolds is a stunning LGBTQ romance and a story of displacement and belonging, of loss and love. It’s both a daring imagining of what might have been and a powerful reckoning of our past.” – read more in the CloudLibrary description of this Novel.
