Teen Read Week Photo Contest Winners

To celebrate Teen Read Week, an annual national literacy awareness initiative specifically to encourage teens to be regular readers and library users, we decided to showcase teens reading with a photo contest.

Below are the winners of the contest!  The photos will be featured in our new Teen Zine (to be printed early 2014). Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to all our participants.

The contest: Just snap a photo of yourself or your friends reading a book!  The first place winner will receive a $50 gift card; second and third place will also receive prizes. Entries are judged by the Pasadena Public Library Youth Services staff based on the quality, creativity, and submission guidelines.

About Jane Gov

Jane is a Youth Services Librarian at Pasadena Central Library. She purchases YA books for the library system and maintains the online teen readers advisory list and weblinks. She oversees the teen contests, Summer Reading, Teen Advisory Board, Zine, book reviewers, and Central Library's teen volunteers and YA programs. She also conducts a few kids events and storytimes. Jane loves YA lit and she's a big Harry Potter and Doctor Who geek. A majority of her free time is spent with her corgi Lord Tyrion of Pasadena.
