The story takes place from the perspective of a girl named Charlotte, also known as Charlie. She’s a high school girl with a seemingly normal life, living in a town called Silver Shores where nothing ever happens. Nothing, until a mysterious boy slithers into her life and changes everything. With a touch like fire and eyes like emerald, it’s clear that this boy is not normal. The darkness beckons Charlie, and hidden amongst the shadows, she discovers a secret that not only threatens the state of the world and everyone in it, but also carves out a new destiny for her that will change her life forever.
This book is incredibly captivating and had me hanging on every word. I went for hours reading each chapter without stopping because I didn’t want to miss what would happen next. The author does an amazing job at shaping the characters’ personalities, making the reader emotionally invested even before the plot really begins. Her use of description and details gives the reader a full view of the story, immersing the reader into the characters’ surroundings. The plot itself is also very different from many of the other novels I’ve read, incorporating the use of Norse mythology into the storyline. In conclusion, I really enjoyed the novel and will definitely be picking up the next book to finish this series. I can’t wait to read what happens next!
