Librarians Jane Gov and AnnMarie Hurtado talked about how to write your resume and write good cover letters. We took a look at the teens’ resumes and were very impressed with the experience these teens have already gotten!  Use that experience to get a job–it’s not hard, just talk about the same keywords you saw in the job announcement, and find ways to directly apply those keywords to your own experience.

Teens also learned helpful tips about searching for jobs and got familiar with our online career resources, and took an online quiz to learn what kinds of responses make for an impressive interview.

Here’s the link for that quiz, and if you take it, you get a certificate at the end!  Interview I.Q.

And check out our LibGuide, with awesome career resources JUST FOR TEENS!  It even includes links to our powerpoint slides from the workshop.  You will find other great websites here as well, such as useful job search engines and websites about cover letters and resumes.

Thank you to all the teens who came!
