This story time was all about growing and transforming, an idea forming from a small seed.


Kings of the Castle by Victoria Turnbull:

Follow the tiny seed through its entire life cycle, as it grows into a zinnia in a garden full of buzzing bees, curious hummingbirds, and colorful butterflies!


The Book of Mistakes by Corrina Lukyen:

As an artist incorporates splotches of ‘mistakes’ into her art, she soon realizes that mistakes can instigate the brightest ideas and the most unique creations.


The Caterpillar and the Polliwog (from Chrysanthemum; based on the story by Jack Kent)

Impressed by the proud caterpillar’s boast that she will turn into a butterfly when she grows up, a polliwog determines to watch the caterpillar very carefully and turn into a butterfly too.

Jane Gov

Jane is a Youth Services Librarian at Pasadena Central Library. She purchases YA books for the library system and maintains the teen booklist, online resources, and webpages. She oversees Teen & YA programs including Summer Reading, Advisory Board, Zine, book reviewers, Teen Mental Health Initiative, and volunteers. She also coordinates the library's Innovation Lab, STEAM Kits project, and Young Readers League. She also conducts a few kids events and storytimes. Jane is a contributor to VOYA Magazine and a YALSA Board member.  A majority of her free time is spent with her two corgis Tyrion and Gimli. She tweets as @missjanegov.
