WE read some great stories about SOUNDS during today’s Preschool Storytime!  We heard all kinds of sounds – animal, musical, and magical!

Here are the books, songs, flannel stories. action rhymes and video we shared.

Books We Read

In Whoops by Suzi Moore, we find three animals (a dog, a cat and a mouse) who cannot make a sound!  A wise old owl suggests they consult with a little old lady who lives in a house in the woods .  He claims her magical powers will bring back their voices.  Well she has a few “whoops” along the way and let’s just say the dog, the cat and the mouse start making some really weird animal sounds until she finally gets it right!

A fun, interactive book that kept the preschoolers (and the adults) completely engaged and laughing!

How Loud is a Lion? by Clare Beaton asks different animals “How loud is a lion?”  Nobody really knows although a REAL lion eventually sneaks onto the page and lets out a real loud ROAR!!!!  Another funny story with lots of anticipation as the writer tells us to “Shhhhh…listen.” until we can hear the ROAR!
