Today we read books about picky eaters, picky dressers, and individuality!

Ella Sarah Gets Dressed by Margaret Chodos-Irvine is a classic and it won her the Caldecott Medal. The paper cut illustrations are wonderfully expressive (I just love how Ella’s character comes through) and the story has a great flow.

Little Pea was Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s first book, and she has gone on since then to be one of the best authors for kids! Jen Corace’s illustrations for it are great. This is always a hit with preschool kids who are intrigued that Little Pea hates candy so much, and they enjoy the surprise ending.

Two of our songs for today were from the Wiggleworms CD titled “Wiggleworms Love You”: If I was a Bird and Clap Your Hands. We got to jump around a lot with those songs!

Have a great weekend.
