Tonight, kids came to Central Library to answer questions about the book Big Nate: In a Class By Himself by Lincoln Peirce. Before we started our battle, our very own “Big Nate” showed what makes him “surpass all others”–his MAD RUBIX CUBE SKILLZ!!  Teen volunteer Nathan demonstrated he can solve a rubix cube in under half a minute!

After this we brought all the kids up on stage again and called them down one by one.  They did a great job on the questions.  The questions this time were a bit harder though, and that’s because the kids were doing so well that we had to toss a few tough ones in to spice things up!

Everybody still got the bonus round right though.  Check out our “sea of c’s”!

Big Nate has a lot of fans among our 2nd and 3rd grade luchadores.  One of the prizes tonight was Big Nate books and they went quickly!  The kids also had a spirited discussion about the book with Miss Patrisia.

Here are the kids going up to get their tickets from Mr. John and me:

Great job kids!!

Next month’s book will be Judy Moody: Girl Detective by Megan McDonald. We’ll meet on Tuesday, March 5th to answer questions about the book. If you are in 2nd or 3rd grade and would like to join us, call 626-744-4725 or email anhurtado [at] cityofpasadena [dot] net.
