Thump! Thump! Thump! ROAR!!!!
We read books about….DINOSAURS!
Mr. T joined us for storytime. (Don’t worry – he’s a vegetarian T-REX…)
Below are some of the stories & activities we explored.

Turn the cut-out pages and see how shapes become a dinosaur in this board book from Caldecott Honoree Suse MacDonald!
“What am I?
I lived a long, long time ago.
I had round eyes…
Lots of sharp teeth…”
This book presents an engaging geometric puzzle as each page adds a new shape, culminating in a final image of the deadliest dinosaur of all – the Brachiasaurus
Oh my…each dino-bite gets a bit smaller as we move from an enormous dinosaur predator to a snack-size predator. Seems like this book might not have a happy ending but some tummy rumbling after a BIG meal causes a dinosaur BURRRRRP and let’s just say “lunch”…”snack”…and “bite” come flying out! Algy Craig Hall has created a masterful picture book for infants and toddlers alike…the stunning visuals, the suspense and the funny ending makes this a great read aloud. I’ve never had such a rapt audience of wee ones.
OUR NURSERY RHYME:
Hey Diddle Diddle…
Hey diddle diddle
The cat and the fiddle
The cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such sport
And the dish ran away with the spoon!
