We started out talking about Baby Ben – where are Ben’s eyes? eyebrows? nose? mouth? hands? feet?…and BELLYBUTTON!
SOME OF THE STORIES & ACTIVITIES WE SHARED:
From eyes to ears, tummy to nose, legs to toes, there’s a lot for baby to discover. Victoria Adler’s book all of baby nose to toes is a great book for infants. The babies in storytime loved the sweet illustrations – they were bold in impact, yet simple and gentle in line. A good bonding book that teaches baby about his/her body parts.
Charlie the Chicken by Nick Denchfield also talks about a baby’s body parts – but that baby is a little chick! This is a great pop up book loved by babies and adults . Charlie the Chicken loves to eat so we see how he gets his “big tummy”, his” big beak”…well it goes on! Of course there’s a twist at the end when we learn there is a bit of genetics involved. [Here’s a hint: Charlie’s mother is a BIG HEN!] A fun engaging story that also teaches body parts.
