On Saturday, July 9, 2016, author-illustrator Bethany Barton taught a creative writing class for kids ages 5-8 at Pasadena Public Library. Her humor and fun infused the class and put the kids in a playful, creative zone. She read us one of her books and even brought some way-cool props, like a puppet and a toilet paper gun–to shoot us with spiderwebs! Kids did group writing and then individual writing with some help from parents. They learned about enhancing simple sentences with more details.

Thank you so much Bethany for your wonderful workshop! It was a lot of fun!
Our next workshop for this age group will be on August 9th from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, with a young writer named Cassidy Kao who will teach us about different types of poems. If you have a child between the ages of 5 and 8 call us to register: 626-744-4066 option 4.
