{"id":502,"date":"2014-03-08T09:00:24","date_gmt":"2014-03-08T17:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pasadena-library.net\/teens\/?p=502"},"modified":"2021-06-30T11:53:19","modified_gmt":"2021-06-30T18:53:19","slug":"divergent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pasadena-library.net\/teens\/2014\/divergent\/","title":{"rendered":"Divergent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During February&#8217;s YA Book Group meeting, we discussed the Divergent series by Veronica Roth and got an opportunity to watch an advance screening of the movie!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Basic facts:<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a YA dystopian trilogy (well, how many YA dystopians are not trilogies? =)<\/p>\n<p>Summary:\u00a0<a>In a future Chicago, sixteen-year-old Beatrice Prior must choose among five predetermined factions to define her identity for the rest of her life, a decision made more difficult when she discovers that she is an anomoly who does not fit into any one group, and that the society she lives in is not perfect after all.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Divergent is the first in the series; Insurgent is book 2; Allegiant is book 3<\/p>\n<p>The movie stars Shailene Woodley and will be released in theaters March 21, 2014 (USA)<\/p>\n<p>What did we think? \u00a0&#8211;quick notes&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>The group&#8217;s average rating is 3.5.
