What’s hot in YA right now?<\/p>\n

This is probably old news, but since its publication in 2012, The Fault in Our Stars<\/strong><\/em> has been getting some serious hype. \u00a0John Green gains status as a household name, and our title request list continues to climb–at one point, at the height of “to-read” popularity, pushing over 100 requests! \u00a0(And that’s with dozens of copies already in circulation.) \u00a0There’s even tfios<\/em>\u00a0accessories<\/a>–and yes, for those not versed in Twitter lingo, #tfios<\/em> is a recognizable hashtag<\/a>. \u00a0Its current popularity is also the reason why it was chosen for our first YA Book Group discussion.<\/p>\n

So what’s this book about?<\/p>\n

In a nutshell: \u00a0it’s a love story.<\/p>\n

A bittersweet, beautiful love story of friendship, family, and loss, about two teens… who both just happen to have a terminal illness. \u00a0Whether this book is really about cancer is up for debate, including a slew of many other issues tfios touches upon.<\/p>\n

The average rating from the YA Book Group (1\/29\/14) is 4.33 out of 5 stars–not very far from the average\u00a0on Goodreads<\/a>\u00a0which earned 4.5 of 5 stars from nearly 500,000 ratings (since 1\/2014).<\/p>\n
