Here are a few samples that might guide you to a new book to read:<\/p>\n<p><em>What character in the book would you like to be and why?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ava M., book <em><strong>Ella Fitzgerald<\/strong> <\/em>by Tanya Lee Stone<br \/>\nElla, because she has so much spirit and influence and she\u2019s a great singer.<br \/>\nAngel G., graphic novel <em><strong>The Watchmen<\/strong> <\/em>by Alan Moore<br \/>\nI wouldn\u2019t really like to be anyone because they\u2019re all, well, to an extent crazy, you have to be in order to dress up in a mask and fight crime, especially after there\u2019s a law prohibiting those actions. But if I really had to choose it\u2019d be Rorshach because he\u2019s relentless and super-smart. Or Bernie, the boy not the old man, because it doesn\u2019t look like he\u2019s got anything else to do but sit and read comics.<br \/>\nIsaac L., book <em><strong>The Ascension: A Super Human Clash<\/strong> <\/em>by Michael Carroll<br \/>\nKrodin. He\u2019s immortal and invincible. Although he is stuck on Mars right now\u2026<\/p>\n<p><em>What was your favorite part of the book?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ashley P., book <em><strong>The Scarlet Letter<\/strong> <\/em>by Nathaniel Hawthorne<br \/>\nWhen Dimmesdale admits to the public that he has committed a sin and that Hester and Pearl are his family.<\/p>\n<p><em>Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Christine A., book <em><strong>Life With Father<\/strong> <\/em>by Clarence Day<br \/>\nYes, because the very entertaining story will keep you laughing throughout!<br \/>\nIsaac A., book <em><strong>Sunrise Over Fallujah<\/strong> <\/em>by Walter Dean Myers<br \/>\nYes, many boys do not get the horror of war; they only think of the glory. Sunrise Over Fallujah shows how horrible war can be.<br \/>\nJean L., book <em><strong>The Shakespeare Stealer<\/strong> <\/em>by Gary Blackwood<br \/>\nYes, because it is so exciting and you never know what\u2019s going to happen at the end of the story.<br \/>\nJohn Y., book <em><strong>Captain Awesome Takes a Dive<\/strong> <\/em>by Stan Kirby<br \/>\nYes I would because it\u2019s an interesting story and the more you read it you\u2019re going to like it.<br \/>\nMarissa S., book <em><strong>Popped Culture: A Social History of Popcorn in America<\/strong> <\/em>by Andrew Smith<br \/>\nYes, I would recommend this book to a friend because it was very interesting and showed many neat things about popcorn.<br \/>\nAaron Y., book <em><strong>The Maze Runner<\/strong> <\/em>by James Dashner<br \/>\nYes. Teens would really enjoy this book, so full of mystery, suspense and horror.<br \/>\nAttila H., book <em><strong>Parable of the Sower<\/strong> <\/em>by Octavia Butler<br \/>\nYes, but definitely not to someone who is not old enough to handle it, because it has lots of morbid scenes and events.<br \/>\nAdrian M., book <em><strong>The Adventure of a South Pole Pig<\/strong> <\/em>by Chris Kurtz<br \/>\nYes, if you like pigs, and believe in dreams.<br \/>\nCallie G., book <em><strong>Kisses from Katie<\/strong> <\/em>by Katie Davis<br \/>\nYes, it is a great book and it changes your life.<\/p>\n<p>Almost 200 local teens were in our Summer Reading Club this year, and many of them won cool prizes, including books, bowling passes, t-shirts, and our grand prize winner won a Nook Color e-reader.
