Swordfighting @the library! \u00a0The Kron Martial Arts<\/a> staff brought medieval combat and history to our library teens. \u00a0Kron is an affiliate of the\u00a0HEMA Alliance and a partner sponsor of the Swordscholar Program. \u00a0They work with medieval researchers and martial artists throughout the world to recreate medieval combat as a serious martial art. \u00a0Our teens got a taste of German and Italian long sword styles, sword and shield, polearms, dagger, and medieval grappling. \u00a0They learned about combat featured in movies and literature… and some of the inaccuracies the authors and filmmakers presented.<\/p>\n

This was one of our most successful programs this summer and the teens and specifically requested for an encore next year!<\/p>\n
