Hey teens! Do you need budget-friendly gift ideas? If so, the Pasadena Public Library subscribes to a really cool database called the Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center that can help you make your very own gifts without having to spend a grip of money or having to navigate the holiday crowds at the mall.

Here is how you can access the database:

  • Log onto www.pasadenapubliclibrary.net
  • Look for the “Research” box on the homepage and click on the “Databases” link
  • Scroll through the alphabetical list of databases and click on “Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center”
    • Note: If you are using this database from home, you will need your library card number. If you don’t have a library card, you can use the database from any Pasadena Library or apply for your very own library card at any library location [you just need to bring in your school ID and proof of address (i.e., a piece of mail) or a parent]
  • When you log onto the database, browse the variety categories or search the database for specific items. There are tons of ideas that will show you how to a variety of things that include PDF instruction, pictures, and much more!
