Storytelling for Tweens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday, November 23, the Central Library hosted a Shared Storytelling workshop for kids ages 8 -12.\u00a0 We had a lot of fun making stories together in different ways.<\/p>\n<p>First, we started off with some exquisite corpse drawing.\u00a0 Exquisite corpse was a game played by surrealist artists in the 1920s.\u00a0 Players write or draw on a sheet of paper, fold it to conceal part of the writing, and then pass it to another person to continue the writing or drawing.\u00a0 To give you an idea, here are some examples of exquisite corpse drawings done by the surrealists.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pasadena-library.net\/kids\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/10\/files\/sites\/10\/2013\/11\/corpse-11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" word after another to create a final story.\u00a0 Here are the stories out six participants told:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Story #1<\/span><br \/>\nThere was a zombie named Zombie Arner who was dead and he suicided JFK and there was zombie brains.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Story #2<\/span><br \/>\nOnce upon a time there was kamikaze who are a dare name oompa-loompa that they are deviled crashed the Titanic.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Story #3<\/span><br \/>\nZombie was an octopus FBI person who was a alien half oopma-loompa deadly and dead.\u00a0 He hypnotizes eggs and pigs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1013 aligncenter\" alt=\"Shared Storytelling 3\" src=\"http:\/\/pasadena-library.net\/kids\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/10\/files\/sites\/10\/2013\/12\/Shared-Storytelling-3-300x269.jpg\" width=\"220\" height=\"196\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We finished up the program by creating exquisite corpse stories, with kids writing for three minutes.\u00a0 At the end of three minutes, they hid all of their story except the last line.\u00a0 Then the passed the stories on to the next author.\u00a0 Here are the final works of art:<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Story #1<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" got hypnytized animals, but not people.\u00a0 That guy first hypnatyzed a poor <del><span style=\"color: #000000\">swine<\/span><\/del> pig.\u00a0 He also liked to play games, that were extremely violent.\u00a0 Like Anctient Greek games like gladiador fighting.\u00a0 Lions were killed in Gladiador fighting.\u00a0 He had no wepons and used a corn dog he hid in his pocket.\u00a0 He wanted to eat it so badly.\u00a0 Insted the lion at it.\u00a0 All the lion bit the zomby.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Story #2<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium style=\"text-align: center\">On Saturday, there was a guy named Ommpaa-LOOMpa.\u00a0 He liked Ommpaa-LOOMpas alot of course.\u00a0 He also had a pet named Ommpaa-Loompa.\u00a0 He also visits Willy Wonka&#8217;s Chocolate factory for a Oompa-Loompa and is like Vercurra, a naughty girl.\u00a0 He wants everything and is a first-class criminal who robbed a hobo.\u00a0 He stole his cart from an alley.\u00a0 The hobo got mad at stole it back.\u00a0 Now the cart stealing guy is in jail!!!
