Our\u00a07th storytime of the summer session was all about Fish!\u00a0\u00a0Fish sure are slippery!\u00a0\u00a0Here\u00a0are\u00a0the stories,\u00a0songs, rhymes, flannel boards, activities and video we explored about our topic.<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/h4>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0 \"\"<\/p>\n

In Hooray for Fish <\/a><\/span><\/strong>by Lucy Cousins we run into a variety of\u00a0fish!\u00a0 This is a colorful, boldly illustrated\u00a0book that captures an imaginary world of all kinds of fish \u2013 spotty fish, stripy fish, an ele-fish, a fly fish, a fat fish, a thin fish and many, many more!\u00a0 A bit long for toddlers, I condensed the book so we could easily read through it.\u00a0 Engaging, with lots of descriptions and opposites, this book is always a crowd pleaser and it makes a great lap sit book.\u00a0 You can go through the pages and point out colors, shapes and the hidden gems painted onto\u00a0certain fish (clouds, eyes, spots, etc.).<\/p>\n

A Fish Story<\/span><\/strong> by Keith Faulkner and Jonathan Lambert is about a little boy who finds a tiny grey fish in his net while fishing in a tide pool.\u00a0 He puts the fish in a jar and brings it home…but it grows too big for the jar!\u00a0 So he places it in the bathtub but it grows too big for the tub!\u00a0\u00a0He finally realizes it is much too big to keep, so\u00a0he puts it in a wheelbarrow and takes it\u00a0back to the sea.\u00a0 He gets a goldfish instead but he misses his “BIG” fish.\u00a0 Every now and then he can see the fish from his bedroom window.\u00a0 Truth\u00a0be told, his fish is really a WHALE!\u00a0 A great “fish” story with a few lift the flap surprises!<\/p>\n
