Bedtime Stories!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We read bedtime stories, revisited the nursery rhyme, T<em>his Little Pi<\/em>ggy, sang a traditional lullaby with a modern twist,\u00a0played a bedtime version of Peekaboo,\u00a0AND hit the hay!\u00a0 (Hopefully nobody actually fell asleep during the storytimes).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>Infant Storytime<\/em>:\u00a0 All babies LOVE Peekaboo games.\u00a0 <strong>Peekaboo Bedtime<\/strong> by Rachel Isadora\u00a0shows baby playing peekaboo with mommy, daddy, grandma, grandpa, cat, dog, slippers, duck and more until FINALLY baby sees <em>YOU<\/em>!\u00a0 Bright, beautiful illustrations and simple text make this the perfect\u00a0book for infants.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.syndetics.com\/index.aspx?type=xw12&amp;isbn=0399243844\/LC.GIF&amp;client=pasap&amp;upc=&amp;oclc=\" width=\"253\" height=\"235\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A lullaby in book format with a modern twist!\u00a0 <strong>Hush Little Alien<\/strong> by Daniel Kirk has papa alien singing his version of <em>Hush Little Baby<\/em> to his baby alien.\u00a0\u00a0Bold illustrations and space-themed lyrics make this a fun take on a classic.\u00a0 The infants were mesmerized by the lilting tune and\u00a0 the picture book&#8217;s bright, colorful imagery.\u00a0 A big hit during infant storytime.\u00a0 After the lullaby, it seemed like a good idea to pull out\u00a0Denise Fleming&#8217;s picture book,\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Sleepy, Oh So Sleepy.\u00a0 <\/strong>The illustrations are softer, showing all kinds of baby animals that are sleepy, oh so sleepy&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.syndetics.com\/index.aspx?type=xw12&amp;isbn=0786807598\/LC.GIF&amp;client=pasap&amp;upc=&amp;oclc=\" width=\"266\" height=\"252\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.syndetics.com\/index.aspx?type=xw12&amp;isbn=0805081267\/LC.GIF&amp;client=pasap&amp;upc=&amp;oclc=\" width=\"256\" height=\"254\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The toddlers got their rendition of <strong>Hush Little Alien<\/strong> followed by another twist on a classic &#8211; <strong>This Little Piggy<\/strong> by Tim Harrington.\u00a0 Of course the littlie piggies in this book are on baby&#8217;s feet and they do more than eat roast beef and stay home&#8230;they dig dancing, fly planes,have costume parties, chew gum&#8230;the list goes on and on.\u00a0\u00a0With all that activity it&#8217;s no wonder they get tired out\u00a0and really want a good night&#8217;s sleep.\u00a0 We also read Cynthia Rylant&#8217;s <strong>Brownie and Pearl Hit the Hay.\u00a0 <\/strong>Best friends Brownie and Pearl (the kitty) show us what they do to get ready for bed &#8211; they take a bath, put on jammies, have a little snack (chocolate chip cookies), read a bedtime story and finally curl up in bed and fall asleep.\u00a0 A great book for toddlers, the children were fascinated with the familiar ritual of bedtime and the colorful illustrations.\u00a0 Besides who can resist Brownie and Pearl&#8217;s unique bond &#8211;
