We’ve gotten a lot of new children’s books in the library lately all about being in a bad mood.\u00a0 I thought why not highlight some of these titles during storytime?\u00a0 Today we had a lot of fun being grumpy.<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/span><\/h2>\n

We started off with a new release, Crankenstein<\/span> by Samantha Berger illustrated by Dan Santat.\u00a0 This fun spin on a classic monster has a character that I’m sure everyone can relate to.\u00a0 We followed that up with a reading of Grumpy Bird<\/span> by Jeremy\u00a0 Tankard, the story of a very grumpy bird and his friends who just won’t let his grumpiness phase them.\u00a0 It’s a fun and funny read.<\/p>\n

Flannelboard Stories<\/span><\/h2>\n

Today we sang along with this flannelboard story all about emotions.<\/p>\n

\n<\/span>(to tune of “Old MacDonald had a farm”)

\nAnd when he’s glad he sounds like this:

I know I get grumpy when I want to go outside and play and it’s raining.\u00a0 That’s exactly what happens to Pete.\u00a0 But Pete’s dad knows exactly how to cheer up this grump — make him into a pizza!<\/p>\n
