Today was the first storytime of our Winter Session, and what a better way to kick things off than with a big HELLO! \u00a0All our stories today were about different ways of greeting each other and saying hi.<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/h4>\n

<\/a>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

We began infant storytime with Hello Baby! by Mem Fox, illustrated by Steve Jenkins<\/a>. \u00a0We met many different friends in the animal kingdom including a monkey, porcupine, lion, hippo and zebra! \u00a0Each animal was paired with a fun characteristic, so it’s a great book to make a little more interactive when you read it with your little one. \u00a0You can point to your little one’s eyes as you read gecko’s page, or wink with owl, and more.<\/p>\n

Later during storytime, we read Hello, Day! by Anita Lobel<\/a>. \u00a0I love this book for its big bright illustrations. \u00a0Each animal makes a different sound as the sun comes up. \u00a0But do you know what they are all saying? \u00a0Find out in this book that you get to make noises along with!<\/p>\n

Flannel Board Story<\/h4>\n

\nidea taken from one little librarian<\/a>, who found it at Storytime Secrets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I put the little boy flannelboard piece on the board, and used it as a prop to point to the various parts of the body we were singing about.<\/p>\n
