In anticipation of the holiday, we spent our storytime reading books about Thanksgiving.\u00a0\u00a0 I know I was thankful to share time with the beautiful infants and toddlers who attended Tuesday’s storytime.\u00a0\u00a0It is always a joy!\u00a0 Here are\u00a0the stories, songs & activities we explored.<\/p>\n

Stories<\/h4>\n

\"gobble-gobble\"<\/p>\n

During our infant and toddler storytimes,\u00a0we sang the\u00a0classic Thanksgiving tale, Over the River and Through the Wood<\/span><\/a> by L. Maria Child, and we shared Sandra Magsamen’s\u00a0board book,\u00a0 I Love to Gobble You Up!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and the board book Gobble, Gobble <\/span>by Alphaprints.\u00a0 There were lots of “gobble, gobble, gobbles…” in those two\u00a0books!\u00a0 I wasn’t sure the children would be able to sit still during the musical rendition of Over the River and Through the Wood<\/span><\/span>, but they were mesmerized by the gentle tune, the lyrics and the great visuals showing a happy family getting into their red car to drive through the snow to visit\u00a0grandmother and grandfather for a Thanksgiving\u00a0feast!<\/p>\n

\n<\/em>Red!\u00a0 That\u2019s right!\u00a0 Let\u2019s put it on the turkey.\u00a0 (Place the feather on the turkey.)<\/em>
\n(now sing, to tune of Mary Wore Her Red Dress)<\/em>
\nTurkey wore his red feather, red feather, red feather.
\nTurkey wore his red feather all day long.<\/p>\n
