This week is National Library Week! \u00a0We celebrated it in our Infant and Toddler Storytimes yesterday by sharing stories and rhymes all about books, reading and libraries!<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/h2>\n

\"My<\/a>\"i<\/a><\/strong>\"Book<\/a>\"Lola<\/a>\"Books<\/a>
\nDon’t you wish you had books with you all the time? \u00a0Well, with the clever idea presented in our first book for infant storytime,\u00a0My Book Box<\/span> by Will Hillenbrand<\/a>, now you can! \u00a0There’s a lot of things you can do with a box, but turning it into a book box means adventure is always around the corner! \u00a0The second book we shared, pulled from my book bag, celebrates books of all types –\u00a0I Like Books<\/span> by Anthony Browne<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Like the monkey in I Like Books<\/span>, it’s hard for me to choose from so many great options for storytime! \u00a0So, for the 10am storytime I shared\u00a0Book!<\/span> by Kristine O’Connell George, illustrated by Maggie Smith<\/a>. \u00a0This is the adorable story of a child who gets a present (a book!), and then celebrates all the things he can do with it – share it, wear it, nap with it, and read it! \u00a0For 11am, I read\u00a0Lola Loves Stories<\/span> by Anna McQuinn, illustrated by Rosalind Beardshaw<\/a>. \u00a0In it, Lola visits the library with her dad every Saturday, and then spends the rest of the week playing out the stories in the books they share at home. \u00a0It’s an adorable celebration of sharing stories, imagination and family. \u00a0In both Toddler storytimes we read\u00a0Books Always Everywhere<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>by Jane Blatt, illustrated by Sarah Massini<\/a>, which highlights that books are great anytime, anywhere!<\/p>\n

Hide the worm behind one of the books before you start. \u00a0Then say this rhyme:<\/em><\/p>\n

Then ask for the color of the book and look under to see if the worm is there!<\/em><\/p>\n
