Books We Shared<\/h2>\n
For toddler storytime we followed Noni the Pony <\/a>to the beach with the second book in Alison Lester’s series about the friendly foal. \u00a0We also watched a young girl make a new friend at the beach in Sea, Sand, Me!<\/a> by Patricia\u00a0Hubbell, illustrated by Lisa Campbell Ernst.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We\u00a0sang along to our flannelboard story to the tune of “The Wheels on the Bus”<\/p>\n Waves at the Beach The waves at the beach go up and down, (bounce baby up and down on knees smoothly)<\/em> The sun at the beach goes shine, shine, shine\u2026\u00a0(open and close hands)<\/em> Start by singing the traditional rhyme:<\/p>\n Where, oh where has my little dog gone? While singing, we hid the dog behind one of the shapes out of sight of the children. \u00a0Then we all had to\u00a0figure out where dog was by naming and lifting each shape!<\/p>\n For our Nursery Rhyme flannelboard we met a very generous sheep<\/p>\n Baa Baa Black Sheep <\/p>\n You need to take a lot of things to the beach when you go – towels, buckets, shovels, hats, umbrellas… \u00a0Let’s hope Peppa and her family don’t leave behind anything important!<\/p>\n Want to take a trip to the beach, but it’s just too hot outside?\u00a0 Come to your air-conditioned, local Pasadena Public Library branch and pick up one of these titles! <\/p>\n Pasadena Public Library – Children’s Room – 7\/28\/2015<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" With our infant todder storytimes we spent a summer day at the beach! \nDuring infant storytime, we started with Beep, Beep, Let’s Go!<\/span> by Eleanor Taylor. \u00a0Many animals are in their cars headed somewhere in a hurry — but where? \u00a0Next we read two short board books. \u00a0The first one\u00a0Sun<\/span> by Carol Thompson was a celebration of the out warmth giving brightest star. \u00a0With the second board book\u00a0Wiggle! like an Octopus<\/span> we actually pretended we were ocean animals as we read, moving like a wide variety of creatures.<\/p>\n
