The first story we shared in Toddler Storytime,\u00a0My Dog is the Best<\/span> by Laurie Ann Tompson, illustrated by Paul Schmid, celebrated all the reasons one young boy loves his very sleepy dog so much. \u00a0(This brand new book will be coming soon to the library!) \u00a0The next book we read,\u00a0Stick!<\/span> by Andy Pritchett<\/a>, had a much more active dog who wanted to play with a stick. \u00a0But will he find someone to play with him?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We\u00a0played a game of hide-and-seek with a flannelboard version of Where, oh Where has my Little Dog Gone?<\/p>\n Where, Oh Where has my Little Dog Gone?<\/span> Start by singing the traditional rhyme:<\/p>\n Where, oh where has my little dog gone? While singing, we hid the dog behind one of the shapes out of sight of the children. \u00a0Then we all had to\u00a0figure out where dog was by naming and lifting each shape!<\/p>\n For our Nursery Rhyme flannelboard we spent some time with a mouse and a clock.<\/p>\n Hickory Dickory Dock <\/p>\n Spot finds a lot of ways to play with books. \u00a0But the best way of enjoying them is having Mom read them to him!<\/p>\n Looking for more books to celebrate dogs?\u00a0 Come to your local Pasadena Public Library branch and pick up one of these titles!
