“Duck Caps”<\/p>\n

For younger children, this craft requires a higher level of assistance, especially for the assembly. \u00a0For the Pajama Storytime (ages 3-7), the pieces were pre-cut, pre-assembled, and instructions re-numbered and revised. \u00a0Although, this duck cap was difficult for the young participants, the kids enjoyed creating something that they could wear. \u00a0This craft idea is from Spacestation 42 dot com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Preprinted cardstock or paper

How to make them<\/strong><\/p>\n

As mentioned above, this craft will require pre-assembly. First print out the template from the link above. \u00a0There is a full color option or a black and white option. \u00a0For storytime, I used the black and white option printed on yellow and orange cardstock. \u00a0The pieces were pre-cut and scored at the folding lines; sometimes, the younger children have difficultly folding cardstock. \u00a0They colored the eyes and top of the duck’s beak. \u00a0Finally, accompanying adults helped the kids tape their hats together. \u00a0Usually, the adults held the pieces for the kids to tape. \u00a0It was a great exercise on following directions and teamwork.<\/p>\n
