Apps We Shared<\/h2>\n
With our first book, A Day in the Market story by May Tobias-Papa, illustrated by Isabel Roxas from Adarna house<\/a>\u00a0(iOS: $2.99; Android Free)\u00a0we took a trip around the world to the Philippines. With the young narrator and her nanay we visit a market, and then sorted the food and cooked something delicious. \u00a0This is a wonderful, multicultural story.<\/p>\n Next, we created our own store with Toca Store by Toca Boca (iOS; $2.99)<\/a>. \u00a0The children helped decide what the store should carry, and then I got to play customer and purchase goods. \u00a0This is a fun app that is great to introduce your child to money, spending, and counting. \u00a0 (Parents especially loved the magic purse at the store. \u00a0Don’t have enough money to buy what you want? \u00a0The magic purse just creates more money!)<\/p>\n In one of my favorite nursery rhymes, a little piggy visits a market. \u00a0So we shared This Little Piggy on\u00a0Nursery Rhymes with Storytime<\/a> (iOS: FREE). \u00a0This is a beautifully illustrated app that has some of the best-known rhymes.<\/p>\n We finished up with a trip to the grocery store with Leo and his dad in\u00a0Dino-Store by Roger Sedarat, illustrated by Trade Loeffler, from Bluemarker.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0But when Leo picks out the large eggs to take home, he and his father are surprised to find they end up with dinosaurs instead of breakfast!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Try these fun rhymes at home\u00a0with your child!<\/p>\n Five little cookies in the bakery shop\u00a0 (hold up five fingers) Four little cookies in the bakery shop\u2026..
