Infant storytime off by reading <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Thanks for Thanksgiving<\/span> by Julie Markes, illustrated by Doris Barrette. \u00a0This is a lovely celebration of being thankful for the simple joys around you. \u00a0Next, we read\/sang <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Over the River and Through the Wood<\/span> by Lydia Maria Child, illustrated by Nadine Bernard Westcott. \u00a0While lots of other holidays have songs to celebrate them, this is the only one I know for Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p>In 10 am Toddler storytime we read about two of the best parts of Thanksgiving &#8211; food and sharing &#8212; with\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">All for Pie, Pie for All<\/span> by David Martin, illustrated by Valeri Gorbachev. \u00a0Finally we got a little silly with thankfulness with Todd Parr&#8217;s brightly colored\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">The Thankful Book.<\/span> \u00a0Things were switched up a bit at the 11 am toddler storytime where we read\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">The Thankful Book<\/span> and\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Over the River and Through the Wood<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Flannelboard Story<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Turkey Feathers<\/span><a is he missing?<br \/>\nFeathers!<br \/>\nWhat color is this feather? <em>(Bring out the red feather)<br \/>\n<\/em>Red!\u00a0 That\u2019s right!\u00a0 Let\u2019s put it on the turkey.\u00a0 <em>(Place the feather on the turkey.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(now sing, to tune of Mary Wore Her Red Dress)<\/em><br \/>\nTurkey wore his red feather, red feather, red feather.<br \/>\nTurkey wore his red feather all day long.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Continue adding color feathers and singing)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s see, what color feathers does turkey have? \u00a0<em>(rename all the colors)<\/em><br \/>\nAnd what does that make?<br \/>\nA rainbow!<\/p>\n<p>You could make this out of construction paper and play at home, or do something similar as your child makes a hand turkey!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr
