For our\u00a0final\u00a0storytime of the winter session we read stories about opposites in size – Big & Little!<\/p>\n

FUN FACT:\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

What follows are the books, rhymes, songs, flannel board and finger puppet story we shared.<\/span><\/h1>\n

BOOKS WE SHARED<\/h1>\n

In Ruth Bornstein’s book, Little Gorilla<\/em> <\/strong>we meet a “little” gorilla.\u00a0 Everyone LOVES Little Gorilla!\u00a0 The lion roars his loudest roar for Little Gorilla, the green parrot and red monkey play with him in the trees…even the boa constrictor thinks he is nice.\u00a0 All of the animals in the forest do everything they can\u00a0to show Little Gorilla how much they love him.\u00a0 But there is only one problem – Little Gorilla doesn’t stay little.\u00a0 He becomes\u00a0HUGE!\u00a0 Will\u00a0he still be loved?\u00a0 From a toddler’s perspective growing up might mean losing that special “little” status – this books\u00a0offers reassurance that true love never depends on the “size” of the outer\u00a0package.<\/p>\n

Sitting In My Box<\/em> <\/strong>by Dee Lillegard is a story about a boy and his box.\u00a0 His box is his secret hideway – a place he can read and be left alone.\u00a0 We find out what happens when some wild animals find him and immediately want him to let them in!\u00a0\u00a0You can imagine it gets pretty tight in there and the little boy yells for someone to leave.\u00a0 No one budges until a teeny, tiny fly buzzes by and wreaks some havoc!\u00a0 A great picture book story with rhyming text, repetition, a group of beautifully illustrated wild animals and a little boy who just wants to be left alone to READ!<\/p>\n

\nUntil that teeny tiny mouse (say \u201cteeny little mouse\u201d in a small squeaky voice)
\ngot caught at last (have cat catch mouse)
