We read all about\u00a0CITY animals\u00a0in today\u2019s Toddler\u00a0Storytime!\u00a0 Some of these critters actually end up in our backyards and even our homes!<\/p>\n

Our library friends Percy the squirrel and Mickey the mouse joined the fun!<\/p>\n

BOOKS WE SHARED<\/h2>\n

That Pup<\/strong> <\/em><\/a>by Lindsay Barrett George is a story about a puppy who runs around his yard uncovering buried acorns.\u00a0 It’s all fun and games until he runs into gray squirrel.\u00a0 Gray squirrel is a bit upset because he\u00a0has been burying those acorns to eat in winter.\u00a0 Pup decides the best way to fix things is to play another game – let’s bury the acorns!\u00a0 Bright, bold illustrations, a simple story line and a happy ending make this a perfect book for toddlers.<\/p>\n

In City Animals<\/strong> <\/em><\/a>by Simms Taback, we are given very specific clues about some city animals.\u00a0\u00a0A squirrel, a dog, a cat, a horse and a mouse pop out in this lift-the-flap book of huge proportions.\u00a0 Some of the\u00a0animals are easy for little ones to guess, others not so much.\u00a0\u00a0A beautiful and clever concept book that\u00a0highlights animals seen in our neighborhoods.<\/p>\n
