We read all about FISH<\/strong> in today\u2019s Toddler\u00a0Storytime!<\/p>\n

Blue<\/em> <\/strong>(our library fish)\u00a0swam over to play with us. Even though we took our storytime \u201cunder water\u201d we had lots of fun and nobody got wet!!\u00a0 What follows are the\u00a0books, songs, rhymes,\u00a0flannel board stories, movement activities and\u00a0video we shared.<\/p>\n

BOOKS WE SHARED<\/h2>\n

Hooray for Fish<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0by Lucy Cousins is full of bright, colorful, diverse, wacky, playful and wonderful fish.\u00a0 We met a spotted fish, a stripy fish, a happy fish, a gripy fish and many, many more!\u00a0 Although the book is a bit long it is easily shortened to fit an infant\u2019s attention span.\u00a0 It is also chock full of amazing illustrations that will keep your baby engaged throughout and\u00a0introduces counting in subtle ways.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0One Lonely Fish<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/a>we do a little counting and meet 10 fish.\u00a0 The 10th fish is SO HUGE\u00a0that\u00a0it eats all of the smaller fish\u00a0that came before it!\u00a0Not\u00a0to worry, it\u2019s just a story!\u00a0 A great book that teaches counting, builds anticipation and touches on size comparisons (going from the smallest to the biggest fish and everything in between.\u00a0 A great book for infants and toddlers.<\/p>\n
