Today was the first Infant Storytime of the spring session!\u00a0 It was wonderful seeing all of those beautiful babies this morning.\u00a0 We explored\u00a0stories about bears, sang some great songs and did quite a bit of bouncing around.\u00a0 Hope everyone had as much fun as I did!<\/p>\n

Listed below you’ll find the books we read and the words to the rhymes, songs & activities we shared.\u00a0 Also, for those of you who want to learn the words\/lyrics\/tunes to the various songs and bounces we sing during our storytime, I have\u00a0included both words\/lyrics and\u00a0(when available) a video clip\u00a0of the songs\u00a0we sang without CD accompaniment.\u00a0 That way you can practice with your wee one(s) at home!<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/h1>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Mama’s Little Bears <\/strong><\/a>by Nancy Tafuri begins with a\u00a0family of bears (a Mama bear and her three little bears) catching all kinds of fish until…the three little bears run off.\u00a0 They encounter a family of birds, lizards, and moles and\u00a0an owl family way up high in a tree.\u00a0 The owl family frightens them and they run, “…down, down, down” the tree looking for their Mama.\u00a0 Of course she isn’t far behind!\u00a0 The perfect story to stir toddler emotions.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \"\"<\/p>\n

Br<\/a>own Bear, Brown Bear, What do You See?<\/a><\/strong> is\u00a0a classic picture book by Bill Martin.\u00a0 Because the story is rhyming and repetitive it makes\u00a0for great audience participation.\u00a0 I used\u00a0 accompanying flannel pieces so the infants could easily see\u00a0the colors of the different animals.<\/p>\n

We also read Whose Tail?<\/strong> by Sam Lloyd – a fun guessing book that showed different animals and their tails and yes, a grizzly bear was involved!<\/p>\n
