Books We Shared

 

In Emma Garcia’s Toot Toot Beep Beep we see all kinds of vehicles making distinct sounds as they travel the highways.  We hear a toot toot, a beep beep, a whoosh, a vroom vroom, a honk honk and MORE!  As you can see things got pretty noisy in this book.  However, at night there is a quiet hush as all of the cars head for the parking garage to find their parking spaces and get some much needed rest.  Colorful, fun and filled with opportunities for engagement and participation, this book is always a hit with infants and toddlers.

Byron Barton creates the perfect picture books for infants and toddlers and My Bus is no exception.  This book covers a day in the life of a busy bus driver who picks up his passengers and takes them to their various destinations (the airport, the train station and the harbor).  It’s not every day that a bus is full of cats and dogs going on vacation!  There’s a bit of subtraction, an introduction to all types of transportation and some colorful animal passengers which makes this great as a lap sit or a read aloud.
