“We have chosen Melissa Perez as the next PIF awardee because she has been an amazing addition to the Library Administration Team! In just over her 1 year as a PPL employee, Melissa has worked with 3 Library Directors through their own transitions, assisting them in many ways with a great attitude and helpfulness, while she herself was learning her own job. Melissa’s kindness is apparent to all who approach her desk, and she is continually ready to learn and face new challenges. It has been our pleasure to work alongside Melissa , and get to know her.” -Kristen Annes and Carol Dickie

Congratulations Kristen and Carol!
“Kristen and Carol have always been fast and efficient at giving me information on work orders, building issues, and other projects. They have gone out of their way to share relevant information and details about my projects. I wanted them to share this award equally because they are both equally concerned with making sure I have everything I need to do my work.” –Ray Phoenix
Congratulations Ray Phoenix!
“Whenever I call Ray for help with a maintenance issue, he always takes care of it in a straight-forward, no-problem way — even when those issues are less than pleasant. He does so much around the library to keep it functioning and pleasant for patrons and staff.
Many may not know this, but his artist eye also helps to make sure the displays under the glass on the Children’s Desk are always spot on and evenly spaced.
Thank you, Ray, for all you do! You are appreciated!” -Jennifer Driscoll
Congratulations Jennifer Driscoll!
“Jennifer is my go-to person for children’s reading recommendations, for both the patrons and my own kids. The bright play area she created has attracted lots of kids. She is very knowledgeable about children’s resources and is always patient with kids and their parents/teachers. Jennifer is a terrific children’s librarian and I’m very happy working with her at the Central Library. Thank you, Jennifer!” -Wei Zhang
Congratulations Wei Zhang!
“Wei is always willing and able to help whenever I have questions. She knows the library’s resources so well and is always happy to share that knowledge. Her help in navigating the often confusing law and business resources is invaluable and I am so happy to be able to say thank you with this PIF Award!” -Illyanna Logan
Congratulations Illyanna Logan!
“I am happy to award the PIF to Illyanna Logan; she brings her thoughtful consideration, astuteness and keen intelligence to every project and task she is involved with. She is a welcome member on any team or committee (and she volunteers her time and perspective to many of these group efforts), because of her hard work and collegial attitude. Many of our Virtual Services projects involve unknowns and/or back-and-forth negotiations, challenges which Illyanna always meets with grace and humor. It is a pleasure to work with her. Thank you, Illyanna!” -Shauna Redmond
Congratulations Shauna Redmond!
Congratulations Mike Fanous!
“Whether it’s fishing out the suspicious or strange between the stacks, hustling to do the heavy lifting, defusing anxiousness or hostility, Mike does it all with smiles and composure. He really has a way of instilling calmness and making us feel at ease and secure, even when dealing with the most difficult situations. Many of my events would have felt overwhelming without his help.” -Jane Gov
Congratulations Jane Gov! PIF Award Recipient 10/22/2015
“Jane Gov is seriously one of the most dedicated, creative, and innovative librarians I know! In fact, Jane is so unbelievably dedicated and passionate about Teen Services that it blows my mind with how much she has done in her short time here at PPL. I am definitely looking forward to working on projects with her in the upcoming year and I am so glad to find a teen services partner in crime! It is my great pleasure to pass on the PIF award because she really does go above, and beyond, for the teens of PPL and she is a great team player . I am so very excited to continue working with Jane and I have no doubt that we will rock the YA world and the City of Pasadena!” -Deb Takahashi
