Divine Comedy

If you are reading (or have finished) the new Dan Brown book, Inferno, you probably want to refresh your memory on the Divine Comedy.  Here are two versions of translation mentioned in the Dan Brown book:

Longfellow’s translation–“Remaining among the most respected and widely read to this day”

Mandelbaum’s translation–“While admittedly less overtly poetic than Longfellow’s version, Mandelbaum’s translation tended to be far more comprehensible”
