Evelyn has lived longer than history can recall and yet, she\u2019s never lived long enough to see the end of her 18th birthday. Bound to her lover, Arden, the pair are reborn infinitely together. With every new spawn point, the two find themselves traveling around the globe and living through various centuries. This love story, however, ends in tragedy in every life because her lover… is also her killer. The one who would lay his life down for her is also the one who takes it. Love, remembering, tragedy and death, the mantra of every life they\u2019ve ever lived, yet their tether remains. After thousands of years, Evelyn is still searching for the \u2018why\u2019 of their story and what led them to such a heartbreaking fate. However, she doesn\u2019t realize that the answer to her burning question will ultimately destroy her world.<\/p>\n

This novel is full of mystery that leaves you reading for hours trying to find the same answer Evelyn yearns for. Their relationship is extremely complex, with their never-ending love being at the core of it. The book was really interesting to read, especially because it was set in the idea of reincarnation. I have never seen a book play with this topic before, and it made every chapter new and different, as the setting was always changing. The author also incorporates different Easter egg words into her dialogue based on wherever the characters\u2019 current spawn point is. I thought this detail was very creative and allows the book to touch on many different cultures. My problem with this book, however, was how long it took to reveal the answer and its unsatisfactory ending. The book ends with a hint of what follows afterward for Arden and Evelyn but doesn\u2019t truly reveal what that is. With such a strong plot idea, I found this aspect of the book to be weak. In addition, the slow burn of their romance and the amount of time the reader was left wondering was a little infuriating. Lastly, this book is considered to have a \u201clow spice level,\u201d but I would argue otherwise. I thought some of the scenes were not very age-appropriate for students, which made the book less enjoyable. Other than that, I would recommend this novel to those who enjoy emotional roller coasters and slow-burn books.<\/p>\n
