Her father, Ted Greer, is the superintendent of the building, and she helps him repair things in the building. But one day, when she goes down all the way to the bottom of the building, she finds a crack in the wall concealing the dead body of a teenage girl. When she tells her dad, he goes down to investigate. But upon his return, he tells her that she must have been imagining things. Despite this, Tyne is determined to uncover the truth about what really happened in the bottom of the Zoo. In her adventure, however, she finds that perhaps the truth is not always meant to be found.

This book is pretty good. I really enjoyed reading it, and there was also some humor mixed in. The book contains some explicit language and graphic descriptions, so don’t read if that bothers you.

Overall, the book was a great read, and most teen readers will probably enjoy this book. The author started the story quickly, wasting no time with drawn out character exposition.

Out of 5, I would rate this book a 4.4.

-Satya Rajendra, Grade 7

Find this book in our catalog: Defender

227 pages

Review by Satya Rajendra, Grade 7 Defender by Graham McNamee Tyne Greer is a six-foot-six giant high school girl that resides in an old apartment building called the Zoo.
