These are virtual volunteer tasks for teen volunteers at Pasadena Public Library. They can be completed any time before May 31, 2020.
You do not need to be an official Library Teen Volunteer to participate in any of these tasks unless specified.
However, if you would like to sign up to be a volunteer beyond these virtual opportunities, you can apply online HERE.
You can participate in whichever tasks you’re interested in. Have fun with it and stay safe and healthy!
(1.5 hours) Wed. Apr 8th, 4pm-5:30 –
Youth Network:

Virtual Book Club: Join us for a discussion of Every Day by David Levithan. We’ll be meeting online. If you need help getting a copy of the book, let us know. Reminder: you can borrow ebooks with your library card online for free! The meeting is an hour, but you will be awarded 3 hours for pre-reading the book and attending the discussion. Online Resources Workshop:

(3 hours) Write a short story or essay (300-600 words) about your experiences in March so far — about school, family, or life in general; about adjusting to the Safer-at-Home rules. Submit it here: https://forms.gle/2t5iU5SgiqMut6S66
(3 hours) Design a new library card. The standard card size is 2×3, so please design with those proportions in mind (i.e. 4×6 or 8×12). Scan or take a picture or do a digital design and email it to jgov@cityofpasadena.net. Who knows? We might actually use your design one day!
(1 hour for each post) Post a book review image on social media about a book you’re reading or love (it could just be a photo with a caption). Tag @paslibraryteen and @pasadenalibrary on Instagram so we can share it.
(2-4 hours) Check and update online resources. Must have access to internet and a computer. Email jgov@cityofpasadena.net to sign up and I’ll schedule a short training session with you before you get started. For official Library Volunteers only.
