(Spoiler: it comes back!)<\/p>\n<p><!-- Book cover --><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pgpl-mt.iii.com\/iii\/encore_pasadena\/record\/C__Rb1277416\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/imagesb.btol.com\/ContentCafe\/Jacket.aspx?UserID=ContentCafeClient&amp;Password=Client&amp;Return=T&amp;Type=L&amp;Value=0060588284\" width=\"400\" height=\"401\" class=\"aligncenter size-large\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our second book, <a href=\"https:\/\/pgpl-mt.iii.com\/iii\/encore_pasadena\/record\/C__Rb1277416\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kitten&#8217;s First Full Moon<\/a> by Kevin Henkes, won the Caldecott medal in 2005 for its simple yet very expressive pictures, and its story told with just the right mix of repetition and surprise. In it, a kitten gets into all kinds of scrapes and has a very rough night trying to get the bowl of milk which she thinks she sees when she sees the moon.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Book cover --><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pgpl-mt.iii.com\/iii\/encore_pasadena\/record\/C__Rb1583502\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/imagesb.btol.com\/ContentCafe\/Jacket.aspx?UserID=ContentCafeClient&amp;Password=Client&amp;Return=T&amp;Type=L&amp;Value=9780735841567\" width=\"400\" height=\"310\" class=\"aligncenter size-large\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In our third book, <a href=\"https:\/\/pgpl-mt.iii.com\/iii\/encore_pasadena\/record\/C__Rb1583502\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mr. Squirrel and the Moon<\/a> by Sebastian Meschenmoser, a squirrel wakes up in terror to find the moon has fallen on his tree branch. He is sure that someone must have stolen it, and if he is caught with it they will think he&#8217;s the thief and throw him in jail! He gets a new perspective, but also gets in a lot of trouble.
