We had lots of fun\u00a0 during our preschool storytime last Saturday!\u00a0 We read books about bears,\u00a0listened to a little flannel story about 10 teddy bears, sang songs and partook in some finger plays.\u00a0 All that and a video too.\u00a0\u00a0Here is a listing of what we shared.<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/h4>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In Ciara Gavin’s picture book, Bear Likes Jam<\/span><\/a>, we see a bear who likes jam soooo much that he doesn’t eat his vegetables!\u00a0 Oddly he lives with a Mama Duck and her baby ducks and they\u00a0are all trying to get him to eat a more balanced diet.\u00a0 When the baby ducks decide to make a game out of meal time (using a little jam as bait), Bear plays along and eats his vegetables with just a bit of jam on the side.\u00a0 A great book for fussy eaters who might need a little coaxing to eat those healthy greens.\u00a0 Plus, who doesn’t like jam?<\/p>\n

The Three Bears<\/span> <\/a>by Bryon Barton is a retelling of the classic tale:\u00a0 Goldilocks and the Three Bears<\/em>.\u00a0 All of the same elements of the story are there:\u00a0 Goldilocks, the three bowls of porridge, the three rocking chairs and the three beds, along with the three bears of course (Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear).\u00a0 This version has some\u00a0simple, colorful visuals and a modern twist to the story, making it a\u00a0great read aloud (or read together) for preschoolers or any adult who remembers this story from childhood.<\/p>\n
