Our 4th storytime of the summer session was all about COLORS<\/strong><\/span>!\u00a0 Sharing a book with\u00a0bright, bold colors can help stimulate your baby’s visual development.\u00a0 Keep in mind that\u00a0babies definitely don’t see things the way we do and\u00a0they generally can’t make out colors until they are five months old.<\/p>\n

Here are\u00a0the books,\u00a0songs, rhymes, flannel stories and activities we shared.\u00a0\u00a0 I hope they were fun and enhanced your wee one’s visual acuity and language development!<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/h4>\n

In Colors pop-up peekaboo!<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 we have the perfect way to introduce colors to an infant.\u00a0 The text is easily shortened to fit “budding” attention spans and\u00a0the lift-the-flap and pop-up features are sure to please a baby’s curiosity.\u00a0 Full of bright colors and surprises, each page is bursting with a single color (yellow,\u00a0red, green and, finally, all of the colors in a rainbow).\u00a0 This book offers multiple opportunities to engage your infant as he\/she sits on your lap either at home or during baby storytime.<\/p>\n

Maisy’s Rainbow Dream<\/span><\/a> by Lucy Cousins is a veritable dream<\/span>\u00a0of colors!\u00a0 Maisy, our favorite mouse, dreams of a red ladybug, an orange fish, a yellow bee, a green leaf, a blue clock…the list goes on and on!\u00a0 Of course the book closes with an amazingly bright, bold rainbow.\u00a0 And her dream world is so beautiful! The visuals in this picture book pop with color and clean, clear lines – all a plus for baby’s developing eyesight.<\/p>\n
