Our\u00a0third storytime of the summer session\u00a0was all about Bears<\/em><\/strong>!\u00a0\u00a0Here are the books, songs, rhymes,\u00a0flannel stories and video we shared for our storytime on Bears<\/strong><\/em>!<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/h4>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In Nancy Tafuri\u2019s book,\u00a0Mama\u2019s Little Bears<\/a>, we are introduced to Mama Bear and her three baby bears.\u00a0 They are all out fishing on a spring day until\u00a0the three baby\u00a0bears run off to explore!\u00a0 They wonder what\u2019s over the hill, what\u2019s under the rock, what\u2019s in the cave, what\u2019s down in the log and what\u2019s up in the\u00a0tree.\u00a0 They find all sorts of creatures but they don\u2019t scurry away until they disturb a\u00a0family of owls.\u00a0 As they hurry down the tree, they look for their Mama but can\u2019t see her!\u00a0\u00a0Where is she?\u00a0\u00a0A sweet story about the need for babies to explore on their own but only if Mama is within eyesight.\u00a0\u00a0Clear, bold illustrations and simple text make this the perfect book for infants and toddlers.<\/p>\n

Orange Pear Apple Bear <\/a>by Emily Gravett is one of my favorite books to share for storytime.\u00a0 It is deceptively simple – there’s your brown bear, a green pear, an “orange” orange and a red apple.\u00a0 See what happens when the rhyming cadence mixes all of these elements up so that you see an orange bear, an orange pear, an apple bear…well you get the picture.\u00a0 Of course we all know bears get HUNGRY and the story ends with bear eating the orange, the apple and the pear…”There!”\u00a0 The rhyming text is marvelous, the illustrations soft and sweet and the ending too perfect!<\/p>\n

\nUntil two little teddies went BOOM to the floor!
