Books We Shared<\/h4>\n
<\/p>\n
Our first story,\u00a0Come Back Ben<\/a> by Ann and John Hassett, is about a boy whose balloon takes him on an adventure “up, up, up!” The ending is surprising and cute!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our second book, It’s Tough to Lose Your Balloon<\/a> by Jarrett J. Krosoczka, suggests ways to see the bright side of many of life’s small disappointments. This one might have been better for a preschool crowd though. <\/p>\n Pete the Clown and His Five Bright Balloons<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n (Credit: Story Time Secrets<\/a>)<\/p>\n Pete the Clown bought five bright balloons at the carnival. (The tune for Pete’s song is what you would sing if you were part of a conga line.)<\/p>\n But then… POP! Did Pete cry? No, never. \u201cI\u2019ve got four balloo-oons! I\u2019ve got four balloo-oons!\u201d <\/p>\n (Repeat the same sequence of events until Pete is out of balloons, then add the following ending.)<\/p>\n Pete was out of balloons! What could he do? <\/p>\n Well, he stopped where he was, turned around, and went back to the carnival, where he got five more balloons. <\/p>\n As he walked along, he sang his song: Pop Goes the Balloon<\/span> <\/p>\n (Credit: Anne’s Library Life<\/a>)<\/p>\n \u201c__(animal\u2019s name) ___ had a __(balloon color)_ balloon. <\/p>\n To emphasize writing skills I have the toddlers practice drawing the letter of the day in the air.
