We had the luck o’ the Irish with us during our toddler storytime today.\u00a0 We read about all things green, counted out some shamrocks and played a guessing game with a friendly leprechaun.\u00a0 It was all in a day’s fun here at PPL!<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/h4>\n

Finding\u00a0a green<\/span><\/strong> sheep isn’t\u00a0easy when you encounter SO MANY sheep along the way!\u00a0 In Mem Fox’s book, Where is the Green Sheep?<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/strong> , there are blue sheep, red sheep, bed sheep, bath sheep, sun sheep, scared sheep, brave sheep – you get the picture.\u00a0 As we turned the pages we kept trying to find the GREEN\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>sheep.\u00a0 (By the way, he finally showed up on the very last page and he was ASLEEP!)\u00a0 An excellent book for toddlers – suspense, colors, moon, stars, circus\u00a0– this book has just about everything to keep a toddler’s interest.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Brenda Vaccaro Seeger’s book, Green<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/strong>, was the perfect pick for\u00a0a storytime about St. Patrick’s Day!\u00a0 This is a beautiful book – the illustrations are lush and each page is a surprise,\u00a0highlighting various things in nature that are green<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 A bit long for toddlers so I shortened it by a few pages.<\/p>\n

Leprechaun, Leprechaun, Where’s Your Gold?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

We played a fun game with our visiting leprechaun.\u00a0 He hid his gold nugget in one of the pots.
\nThe children had to guess which pot held the gold!<\/p>\n

Was it the red<\/span><\/strong> pot? the purple<\/span><\/strong> pot? the orange<\/span><\/strong> pot?\u00a0\u00a0the blue<\/span> <\/strong>pot?
\nIt took us quite some time before we found out the gold was hidden in the GREEN<\/span> <\/strong>pot!<\/p>\n
