Tap again\u2014one, two, three, four\u2014and four more leaves have grown on the next page. As you pat, clap, wiggle, jiggle through the pages of this book you see\u00a0blossoms bloom, apples grow, and\u00a0leaves swirl away with the autumn breeze.\u00a0 This was a great interactive story which invited a tactile response from the children and provided a counting &amp;\u00a0sensory experience throughout.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pgpl-mt.iii.com\/iii\/encore_pasadena\/record\/C__Rb1407875__Sned%27s%20new%20home__Orightresult__U__X7?lang=eng&amp;suite=pasadena\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Ned&#8217;s New Home<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0by Kevin Tseng begins with a worm named Ned who has to move\u00a0when his\u00a0apple begins to rot.\u00a0 He\u00a0searches for another fruit to call home.\u00a0 He tries a pear, but\u00a0that\u00a0isn&#8217;t quite right. A watermelon isn&#8217;t perfect either. A pile of blueberries? All wrong! your beanbag, don\u2019t let it drop,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Let\u2019s all do the beanbag rock.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The song continues with the children being instructed to place the beanbag on various body parts (knee, head, toe, elbow)\u00a0and also asks the children to hold the beanbag up high and down low.<\/li>\n<li>The movements help with body identification, developing fine and gross motor skills and with following directions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"font-headlines\">Closing Songs<\/h4>\n<p>We try to maintain consistency with the songs and activities we use in our Sensory Storytime sessions.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The repetition builds familiarity and provides the predictability children with autism require.\u00a0 Sessions generally last 5-6 weeks with one meeting a week.<\/p>\n<p>Two universally known songs that are always big hits are <em>Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Itsy Bitsy Spider<\/em>.\u00a0 The finger movements used with the songs help
