The first meeting of our fall session of Infant and Toddler Storytime was ALL about APPLES – the juicy kind!\u00a0\u00a0Here are some of the\u00a0stories and activities we shared about our theme!<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Stories<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

\"pepo-and-lolo\"\"5-little-apples\"\"apple-farmer-annie\"<\/a><\/p>\n

During our infant storytime, we read about Pepo and Lolo’s quest to reach a red, juicy apple stuck way up high\u00a0in an\u00a0apple tree.\u00a0 It took an ingenious plan and some teamwork to make that apple fall and boy was it yummy!\u00a0 We also shared a board book by Yusuke Yonezu titled 5 Little Apples<\/span>.\u00a0 It is a colorful countdown book filled with animals (large and small) who take away the apples one by one.\u00a0 There is a beautiful surprise at the end though!<\/p>\n

During toddler storytime, we shared Monica Wellington’s\u00a0book,\u00a0Apple Farmer Annie<\/a>.\u00a0 Annie\u00a0grows many kinds of apples in her orchard.\u00a0 When they’re ripe,\u00a0she picks some to\u00a0make apple cider,\u00a0applesauce AND all sorts of yummy baked goods.\u00a0 However, she saves the\u00a0BEST<\/span> apples to sell at the market.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0We also read\u00a0about Pepo and Lolo…just because it has so many elements that make a dynamic story for both infants and toddlers.<\/p>\n

5 LITTLE APPLES<\/strong><\/p>\n

5 little apples in a bowl,<\/p>\n

One fell out and started to roll,<\/p>\n

It hit the table and bumped my feet,<\/p>\n

How many apples left to eat? (4, 3, 2, 1)<\/p>\n

\nI shook that tree as hard as I could (pretend to shake trunk of\u00a0tree)
\nDown fell the apples, mmmmm, they were good!\u00a0(rub tummy)<\/p>\n
