We counted scoops, talked about flavors and colors, and made it into a game emphasizing early literacy.<\/p>\n<p>We sang a song called &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/pasadena-library.net\/kids\/fingerplay-ppl\/#youbetheicecream\" target=\"_blank\">You Be The Ice Cream<\/a>,&#8221; and then we read a book called <a href=\"http:\/\/pgpl-mt.iii.com\/iii\/encore_pasadena\/record\/C__Rb1565346__Sice%20cream%20summer__Orightresult__X7?lang=eng&amp;suite=pasadena\" target=\"_blank\">Ice Cream Summer<\/a> by Peter Sis.  It&#8217;s kind of a long book but we abridged it and did hand movements for each of the things that the boy describes.  By the 11 o&#8217;clock group, I had this book down to a science and cut it in half, and it worked well! (Pretend to hold a spoon and eat slow)<br \/>\nDo you like it with some syrup (Pretend to squeeze a bottle)<br \/>\nWith some sprinkles, or some nuts? We sang and clapped and danced to &#8220;Can&#8217;t Wait to Celebrate&#8221; by <a href=\"http:\/\/pgpl-mt.iii.com\/iii\/encore_pasadena\/record\/C__Rb1477897__Sjim%20gill%20cant%20wait__Orightresult__U__X1?lang=eng&amp;suite=pasadena\" target=\"_blank\">Jim Gill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I really wish I had a photo of everyone wearing their coffee filter cone hats!  Thank you so much parents, for always being ready to get silly and playful with your kiddos.  It enhances their experience and helps them to make a connection that reading\/talking\/singing = FUN! <\/p>\n<p>Toddlers watched the short film &#8220;Max Drives Away&#8221; from our <a href=\"http:\/\/pgpl-mt.iii.com\/iii\/encore_pasadena\/record\/C__Rb1388771__Sspringtime%20max%20ruby__Orightresult__U__X2?lang=eng&amp;suite=pasadena\" target=\"_blank\">Springtime with Max and Ruby DVD<\/a>.
