Today was our One City One Story Day celebrating Christina Baker Kline’s\u00a0Orphan Train<\/span>. \u00a0There was an amazing Lionel train set up in our main hall that young ones (and young at heart) loved. \u00a0Of course, we continued that theme into Storytime.<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We began storytime with a tale of two trains –\u00a0Whoosh and Chug!<\/a><\/span> by Sebastien Braun<\/a>. \u00a0Chug is a slow, steady engine. \u00a0Whoosh is a fast passenger train who often teases Chug. \u00a0But guess who comes right to the rescue when Whoosh needs it?<\/p>\n

For our second story we took a train ride thanks to Window Music<\/span><\/a> by Anastasia Suen, illustrated by Wade Zahares<\/a>. \u00a0We started by giving our ticket to the conductor, and then traveled through beautiful scenery to get to our city destination. \u00a0All accompanied by the music from the train and outside.<\/p>\n

For the movie, we saw Peppa Pig’s Grandpa entertain all the kids in town with his Little Train. \u00a0And remember, it’s not a toy!
