\n<\/a>We read books about birds today!\u00a0 Here are some of the stories, songs & activities we explored:<\/p>\n

OUR FIRST BOOK<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"night<\/a><\/p>\n

For our first book I read Night Owl\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>by Toni Yuly.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>Night owl stays up late and is very brave UNTIL she realizes she\u2019s lost sight of her mommy.\u00a0 She strains to hear her mother\u2019s hoooot!\u00a0 Before she finds her mommy she hears tap, toot, chirrup and croak\u2026then it\u2019s thunder, rumble, BOOM!\u00a0 (These are not the sounds of her momma!)\u00a0 She flies back home, hoping to hear her mommy\u2019s familiar voice.\u00a0 Finally, as she sits up in the tree and listens one more time\u2026she hears a faint hoooot!\u00a0 Guess who that is?\u00a0 Great visuals and simple text make this a great book for the wee ones\u2026the older children seemed to enjoy it too.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>OUR TRANSITION ACTIVITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clap, clap, clap your hands as loud as loud can be<\/p>\n

OUR SECOND BOOK<\/strong><\/p>\n

For our\u00a0second book I read Early Bird\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>and\u00a0we find out that\u00a0the early bird does really catch the worm!\u00a0 Isn\u2019t that how the saying goes?\u00a0 In this simple, yet\u00a0colorful and boldly\u00a0illustrated picture book, Toni Yuly shows us that the early bird is up VERY\u00a0EARLY\u00a0and does catch the worm (after some shenanigans) but she and the worm share a beautiful, red, juicy strawberry \u2013\u00a0the worm is not eaten\u2026phew!<\/p>\n
