Before announcing our storytime theme to everyone, we read the book\u00a0It Looked Like Spilt Milk<\/span> by Charles G. Shaw<\/a>. \u00a0The kids had a fun time recognizing the different shapes highlighted in the book — and it was a great way to announce what it actually was making all those shapes!<\/p>\n We also read about a cloud who always dreamt of serving his community in\u00a0The Police Cloud<\/span> by Christoph Neimann<\/a>. \u00a0When the cloud tries to be a police cloud, however, things don’t work out exactly as he had hoped. \u00a0Will he ever find a place to be useful?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For our first flannelboard story, we did a change-up on the song B-I-N-G-O, with C-L-O-U-D-Y:<\/p>\n C-L-O-U-D-Y (to the tune of \u201cBINGO\u201d) (turn over one of the clouds so the letter is no longer showing) Continue until all clouds are turned over and you are clapping six times in a row.<\/em><\/p>\n (rhyme taken from\u00a0PreSchool Express<\/a>)<\/p>\n This can also be changed to other types of weather: Sunny! \u00a0Windy! \u00a0Rainy! \u00a0Have fun exploring other options with your child.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Later in storytime, the audience got to be the wind for our rhyme Five Little Clouds<\/p>\n Five Little Clouds<\/span><\/p>\n 5 little clouds up in the sky Continue counting down until 0 clouds are left.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n (rhyme taken from\u00a0Mrs. Andre\u2019s Library<\/a>)<\/p>\n Try these fun rhymes at home\u00a0with your child!<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>I\u2019m a Little Cloud<\/span> (rhyme by Jean Warren,\u00a0taken from Preschool Express<\/a>)<\/p>\n We watched a chapter from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh<\/a><\/span>, where Pooh, driven by his love of honey, decides to try and trick the bees by pretending to be a little black rain cloud.
